The experience

The quirks people come back for

Ivory Gabel was designed by an artist who builds cabins for a living. Every corner has something in it — here's what you'll actually find.

Unique quirks

Six things you won’t find at the cabin next door

Ivory Gabel was built by a designer with an art degree and a farm upbringing. It shows up in the details — and the details are what guests write about.

The panoramic wraparound porch with patterned rugs, woven chairs and a view straight into the trees

The star of the show

The panoramic porch

It wraps the whole cabin. Layered rugs, a hanging egg chair, a long timber table for dinner, and a swing bed piled with sheepskin. Coffee here in the morning is the entire point — and when the string lights come on, nobody goes inside.

The Fox Den — an arched, deep-green reading nook lined with books and lit by a brass fox sconce

A nook of your own

The Fox Den

An arched, deep-green reading nook lined floor to ceiling with books and lit by a small brass fox. Kids claim it within about four minutes of arriving. Adults claim it back after bedtime.

A Victrola record player and a stack of vinyl records on the cabin porch

Level with the treetops

The upstairs tree-line porch

Up the branch-built stairs is a second, smaller porch that sits right at canopy height — with a Victrola record player and a stack of vinyl waiting for you.

After dark

Movie night around the fire

Roll out the projector, throw a film on the big outdoor screen, and let the Ozarks wildlife handle the soundtrack. Firewood is provided; Netflix is already logged in.

The hand-built mini treehouse art spot standing among the Ozark trees

Go find it

The mini treehouse

A hand-built little treehouse tucked into the woods below the cabin — an art spot, a hideout, and the most-photographed thing on the property after the porch.

Black-paned closet doors and a book-lined shelf in the cabin’s upstairs hall

Yes, really

The pop-up shop closet

The master closet doubles as a tiny shop. If something in it comes home with you, just send an honest payment — everything else, from the books to the throws, stays for the next guest.

Also on the property

The Art Studio Cabin

The Art Studio Cabin sits up the same driveway and may be available to book alongside Ivory Gabel. It is also occasionally in use by photographers or other guests — so you may see people coming and going up the drive.
